FAQs

What can I expect in a typical session?
Sessions are conversational, but also experiential. We might explore thoughts and emotions, but also tune into your body, imagery, or inner “parts” that hold different feelings or beliefs. You set the pace—we’ll go gently and respectfully.

What is somatic therapy?
Somatic therapy means we pay attention not only to what you’re thinking, but to what your body is holding—like tension, numbness, or a tight chest. These sensations can offer important clues and pathways for healing that words alone may not access. We use body-based tools to regulate your nervous system and build deeper self-awareness.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts work”?
IFS helps us understand the different parts within you—like the inner critic, the overachiever, the caretaking part, or the hurt child. These parts all developed to protect you. In therapy, we work to understand and unburden them, so you can feel more whole and at ease in your life.

Do I have to talk about trauma?
Only if and when you’re ready. Healing doesn’t always mean revisiting the past directly. Sometimes, it means learning how to feel safe in your body again, setting boundaries, or gently exploring emotions that are arising in the present.

Do you offer telehealth only?
Yes—all sessions are currently offered online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform for clients located in Massachusetts.

Do you work with specific populations?
I specialize in working with high-achieving adults, first- and second-generation immigrants, adult children of immigrants, BIPOC clients, and folks navigating cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, and deep life transitions.
